Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have a Q&A with Ventures.
METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
VENTURES: We’re a metalcore band from Manchester, England called Ventures. We formed back in 2016 as just a project to help pass the time as a few of us were missing playing in a band room with buddies, fast forward a year or so and we decided to see what legs this band has live, even more, fitting that one of our first releases was called “Legs.”
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
VENTURES: We all have wildly different tastes and influences but when it comes to Ventures we try to leave as much of that as we can behind and just write what we feel needs to be written, don’t get me wrong you can hear all our favourite bands in the way we play but together we influence each other.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
VENTURES: Our latest release is called “Melt With Me” and if you’ve ever struggled with growing up and just wanting to be forever young this song may hit differently, Ollie likes to write about his life or what going on around him and for this song he choose embracing and nurturing your inner child rather than mourning your childhood, ensuring you never lose touch with your true self.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
VENTURES: Smiles and energy! We love what we do and doing it always brings a smile to our faces, Richard gets called the happiest guy in a metal band.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
VENTURES: Fingers crossed only up! We’d love to be touring nonstop by then and just living the band life, I’m sure age will stop us from having as much fun but we’d love it.
