South By Southwest will not be accepting sponsorship from the U.S. Army and defense contractors in 2025. This news comes after Scowl, GEL, and more pulled out of this year’s event after taking issue with the sponsors for manufacturing and supplying weapons used against Palestinians. The following was said on SXSW’s website:
“After careful consideration, we are revising our sponsorship model. As a result, the US Army, and companies who engage in weapons manufacturing, will not be sponsors of SXSW 2025.”
