Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have a Q&A with 4ra 4ra.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about yourself:
4RA 4RA: If you want to experience driving energy, madness and digital dystrophy, I’m a Cyber Pop music producer and singer, who simulates this for you. I’m 4ra 4ra (reads Ara Ara), it’s like a gaming nickname and I’m all about making music, singing, and creating digital art. I dive into whatever catches my interest because I just love expressing myself in all sorts of ways, bringing cool audio-visual stuff to life.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
4RA 4RA: REZZ, Poppy, IC3PEAK, Lucille Croft, HANABIE. I love strong women with dark music. My music is a fusion of influences from video games, gore anime, and chronic online entities. I love to blend genres and vibes, whether it’s from mid-tempo to nightcore, or from feelings of happiness to bursts of aggressiveness.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
4RA 4RA: The latest release is ‘Need For Drift’. This song has been by far my biggest experiment ever. The entire timeline is gradually accelerating in tempo until it crashes and undergoes enormous changes. From synthwave to cyberphonk to techno to nightcore! It’s funny that it all started from my cover of the song ‘Tokyo Drift,’ where I drastically chopped vocals into nonsense. Additionally, I pitched and bent the melody with a phonk-sounding bell. I also, I wanted to capture the kind of retro-modern synthwave vibe found in Kavinsky’s ‘Nightcall’ in breakdowns. In the end I wanted my listeners to experience a dystopian cyberpunk atmosphere – ultimately, it’s a solid chaos, something like a drifting JPOP song on drugs in a car crash.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
4RA 4RA: My live shows are cybercore audio-visual experiences. As a digital artist, I emphasize strong visuals with digital avatars created by me.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
4RA 4RA: I see myself in a dystopian cyber music community with people who gets me for who I am and for what I create. My dream also includes developing the 4ra 4ra’s Realm mobile app with AR interactions activated during my live shows. As a 3D fashion designer, I’d like to explore the creation of AR merch as well.
