Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Q&A With Sam Kallan

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have a Q&A with Sam Kallan.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your yourself:

KALLAN: My name is Sam Kallan and I am from Sacramento, California. I grew up with influences from rock/punk and hip-hop that heavily influenced the fusion in my sound today.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

KALLAN: My main influences are Slipknot, Linkin Park, and Three 6 Mafia.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

KALLAN: My latest release is “Come Up” (feat. Mikey Rotten), but I just released “Slittin’ Throats” on March 6th as well. Both sporting a very heavy and dark sound, the dynamic range in these songs makes for fun driving, working out, or going to see me perform them live.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

KALLAN: You can always expect a fun time at a Sam Kallan show. The aggressive lyrics and way I perform has crowds jumping and mosh pits moving.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see yourself in five years?

KALLAN: I see myself going on tour and performing at festivals with metal bands like Aftershock and Sick New World.
