Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Q&A With Bridge The Gap

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have a Q&A with Bridge The Gap vocalist Chad Jensen.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

JENSEN: The best way to describe Bridge The Gap is we’re a ‘90s melodic punk band. The four of us have been friends for 25 years and have long played music together. After a long hiatus, we got together to form a new band in the summer of 2022, recording our debut album Secret Kombinations at The Blasting Room in Ft. Collins, CO, with producer Bill Stevenson. The album dropped in March of 2023 on People of Punk Rock Records.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

JENSEN: We all vary somewhat in our influences, but bands like Bad Religion, Descendents, Pennywise, and NOFX are the common themes among the four of us. Beyond Bad Religion, one of my personal faves is Strung Out. Yeah, ‘90s legends.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

JENSEN: “Secret Kombinations” has been out for about nine months, and it’s done very well for us. We dropped a new single entitled “Revenant” in October. Readers should check it out if they like fast, technical, melodic punk rock with some obvious metal influences, anthemic choruses, and a big emphasis on songwriting.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

JENSEN: It’s punk rock. High energy and passion.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

JENSEN: Good question. We see ourselves continuing to record and release music, and focusing on doing more and more touring. And hopefully reaching more and more people.
