Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have a Q&A with Machine 85.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
MACHINE 85: Hey metalheads! Jokke here from MACHINE 85. Me and the drummer Ulf Wahlgren have been playing together since we where 13. We formed a Metallica cover band called Warlocks haha. Skipped classes and played for hours. We both met bassist Alfred Andersson in a music school when we where 17. Since then we have played in a lot of bands through the years. Toured a lot. So we know each other very well. Both on a musical and personal level. I wanted to put together a new band. Rent a studio and record my dream album. With my dream lineup. Alfred and Ulf. Songs I’ve had in my head for a while. And I wanted to record the album in Nashville where Ulf lived at the time. With no click-track and no bullshit. Live takes together as a band. So we rented the famous Sound Emporium studio B. Recorded everything in 3 days. Except lead vocals which I did in my own studio in Sweden.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
MACHINE 85: Metallica, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Mountain.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
MACHINE 85: We just released “20 Days.” Our second single ever. Its a fun, uptempo song. Gets you in the mood! If your up for something different, I think this song is for you!
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
MACHINE 85: Pure energy, fun, joy. A shred-fest.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
MACHINE 85: On a headline Tour!
