During The Brian Jonestown Massacre’s November 21 show in Melbourne, Australia, vocalist Anton Newcombe and guitarist Ryan Van Kriedt ended up getting into a physical altercation onstage. Newcombe, who has a history of substance abuse, was reportedly picking at Van Kriedt and members of the crowd before the two musicians went at it following the below exchange:
Newcombe: “Cut off this guy’s mic, put down my guitar, party’s over captain. We actually don’t need you. Go! Put my guitar down on the stage and think about what’s happening.”
Van Kriedt: “You better think about this one, man. Because this is forever.”
