Concert Review: Motionless In White, Knocked Loose, After The Burial, & Alpha Wolf In San Jose, CA

Yesterday (October 2), I attended Motionless In White, Knocked Loose, After The Burial, and Alpha Wolf’s show at the San Jose Civic in San Jose, CA and it was an incredible night of headbanging fun.

The night kicked off with a killer set from Alpha Wolf. The band hooked the crowd from the get-go with a battering display of infectious metalcore. The dynamic performance helped set the tone for the evening and helped prepare everyone for the night ahead. Some highlights from the band’s set included “Bring Back The Noise” and “Akudama.”

Following Alpha Wolf, After The Burial took the stage for an insane performance. The band were firing on all cylinders as they blasted onto the stage with a bludgeoning attack. The group’s ferocious music and incomparable stage presence captivated the crowd with a progressive flair. Some highlights from the band’s set included: “Lost In The Static,” “Death Keeps Us From Living,” and “Behold The Crown.”

As soon as After The Burial wrapped up, Knocked Loose took the stage for an electrifying performance. The group have continued to climb the ranks of the music world in recent years and their skull-crushing live shows further cement their status as one of the best acts in the current hardcore scene. The intense performance created an energy that reached a point of pure chaos as the crowd screamed and moshed their way to the end. Some highlights from the band’s set included: “Deep In The Willow,” “Deadringer,” “Counting Worms,” and “Everything Is Quiet Now.”

After Knocked Loose, it was time for the headliners of the evening, Motionless In White! The band were on a mission to redeem themselves for last year’s concert in San Jose, which suffered due to Chris Motionless losing his voice. Fortunately, everything went off without a hitch this time around as the band put on one of the best live shows of their career. Their energy was unmatched as they powered through a career-spanning set that was both musically and visually stunning. The group’s skillful precision was backed by a massive stage production featuring big screens, which changed imagery for each track, and additional appearances from the ever-talented Cherry Bombs. It was truly a night to remember. Some highlights from the band’s set included: “Immaculate Misconception” (feat. Alpha Wolf’s Lochie Keogh), “Hatefuck,” “Slaughterhouse” (feat. Knocked Loose’s Bryan Garris), “Werewolf,” “Reincarnate” (feat. After The Burial’s Anthony Notarmaso), and “Devil’s Night.”
