Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Q&A With Dead Fiction

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have a Q&A with Dead Fiction.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

DEAD FICTION: Dead Fiction are a heavy rock band from Massachusetts.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

DEAD FICTION: Our influences vary by members but collectively we draw inspiration from bands like Loathe, Superheaven, Moodring, Gojira, Tool and Periphery.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

DEAD FICTION: Our latest release “Product of Allegiance” is a grungy take on metal and rock with polyrhythmic elements and concussive attitude, drawing influence from bands like Tool and Alice In Chains. A closer listen reveals cerebral metaphors that belay listeners into the depths of modern dystopia and the human condition.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

DEAD FICTION: Our live performance is hectic, dynamic and inclusive. You can expect to be yelling, moshing, screaming along to familiar favorites and swaying in moments of quiet ambience.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

DEAD FICTION: In the next 5 years we see ourselves evolving our sound, touring the US and Europe, further developing our studio, and playing alongside some of our longtime inspirations.
