Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Q&A With Balrogath

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have a Q&A with Balrogath.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

BALROGATH: Balrogath is about big lore and making a party. We want to make fun heavy music and tell cool stories about the nerdiest stuff we can think of. Some cross between Lord of the Rings and Ensiferum

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

BALROGATH: Iron Maiden, Unleash the Archers, Opeth, Ensiferum, Children of Bodom, The Black Dahlia Murder, Devin Townsend.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

BALROGATH: We Bring Calamity, this EP is an extension of our initial release. It’s a far more focussed approach to the sound we want to build

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

BALROGATH: Makeup, Theatrics, BIG GUITARS, and big party.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band in five years?

BALROGATH: World domination, goblin takeover of the earth? Touring with Nekrogoblikon and Unleash the Archers. Maybe paying our rent with music if we’re lucky.
