Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Chris Maragoth.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
CHRIS MARAGOTH: Chris Maragoth is a german artist and same-titled musical project that was founded in February 2017. Being a guitarist primarily, Chris writes, arranges and records instrumental and vocal parts on his own. Occasionally Chris collaborates with other musicians. The mostly dark and melancholic musical style is a fluent transition between several genres of rock and metal music, but can be mostly described as modern rock and melodic metal.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
CHRIS MARAGOTH: Muse, Trivium, Avenged Sevenfold, and classical music.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
CHRIS MARAGOTH: In November 2021 the EP “Tales” was released. “Tales” is a musical short story collection. The EP contains 3 tracks that not only have in common that they start with the phrase “Tales of” in their song title, but also that each track got a self-contained story largely based on personal experiences. The music style of “Tales” can be described as Melodic Metal and Symphonic Metal with some elements of Gothic. If you like good and catchy melodies, a melancholic and also a dark atmosphere, you should definitely take a look.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
CHRIS MARAGOTH: Due to the fact that it is a solo project, live gigs weren‘t done in the past (except one acoustic gig) but Chris is still looking for hiring some live musicians to join him for some gigs, but the project is primarily not geared towards live performances.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
CHRIS MARAGOTH: Still healthy and fit to work on new music and continuing to live out his passion.
