Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Karly Jewell

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Karly Jewell.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

KARLY JEWELL: We are a four piece, hard hitting rock band but in saying that we drift through sounds bringing genres together at times to make our unique sound. The band members are me – singer/songwriter, David Beaton – Bass, Adrian Kluke – Guitar and our heavy hitman Marino Marcos. He is the Heartbeat that’s brings us to life very song.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

KARLY JEWELL: We all love Rock and Roll and everything music. There are so many Artists and great bands Adrian – AC/DC Dave – R.A.T.M and Mars well he’s a Mötley guy all the way. Myself vocally the late Dolores O’Riordan had a huge influence on me. I also know Dave is a huge Alice In Chains fan and of course we all love our very own Aussie Rockers Rose Tattoo.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

KARLY JEWELL: “Dancing With The Devil” is our latest single recorded in Melbourne Australia @coloursoundstudios by Mat Robins Mastered By Jack The Bear (Tony Mantz). The track has feeling and shifts through energy but never looses pace keeping the listeners waiting to get to the next part. It’s got a good hook I know that much with reviews and being a song that gets stuck in your head. We worked really hard. Some people might love it, some people might hate it, but we did what fell into place and gave it our all. So we would love for the readers to check it out.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

KARLY JEWELL: Well we are loud so we hope they like their Rock and Roll loud. High energy, we keep it very real, we are never a band that waits backstage before shows you’ll findus on the floor with everyone there. We have been building a huge Rock and Roll family so that’s where you’ll find us right there with them. There’s definitely a stage energy that carries across the room, we always have a good time. Dave always captures the crowd. The way he plays bass says this show ain’t over till the bass stops. Mars is heavy hitting and brings something special and well. Adrian is a magical being if you ask me, he is the definition of music when he starts playing guitar. We don’t work on a certain stage show we just do what we do. Keep it real and have a good time. So a Whole Lotta Realness I guess and a good rock and roll show.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

KARLY JEWELL: Well that depends on the world I guess. We had huge plans for 2020 with a Japan tour booked and it would of seen our return to Los Angeles and also supporting Rose Tattoo on the May 7 at The Whisky A Go Go, so we were already on a good road to bigger and better things. We plan on booking these events again and we would love to see international tours and big shows happening. Lots more Rock and Roll so we will just keep doing what we love and see where it takes us.
