Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Chasing Apparitions

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Chasing Apparitions.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

CHASING APPARITIONS: The metalcore outfit based out of Indiana, Chasing Apparitions, released their debut EP, entitled “The Hedonist”, back in 2016 gathering over 25,000 streams worldwide.

After taking a brief hiatus, Chasing Apparitions is back with a new line-up.

Featuring Josey Stines & Jacob Ortengren on instrumentals with Justin Stubbs on vocals, Chasing Apparitions recorded “Am I Worth Saving?” with Jonathan Dolese at Konkrete Studios.

Throughout “Am I Worth Saving?” the band brings a breath of fresh air to the genre with hard-hitting riffs & emotional lyrics that make you question your very existence.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

CHASING APPARITIONS: Born of Osiris, Fit for a King, Thousand Below, Architects, Dayseeker, Wage War, and Bad Omens.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

CHASING APPARITIONS: Our latest release is a single called “As Above, So Below”. The song is about poverty, whether it be living paycheck to paycheck or just being homeless. We feel that not enough is done for people that are struggling. We also feel that most people who are better off financially tend to look down on people who struggle.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

CHASING APPARITIONS: Energy. We always want to start our shows with high energy & end with high energy. When people come to a venue, they expect a show. I don’t think anyone’s ever come to a metal show & been like. “Damn, I hope your band stands still so I can just vibe to the music.”

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

CHASING APPARITIONS: I would love to see Chasing Apparitions drop an EP each year. That’s the plan in my head currently, to continuously push out new music so our fans are never waiting for something new. I’d love to think we could get a full line-up & we could do a headlining tour, but you gotta take it one step at a time.
