Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with D.I.G.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

D.I.G.: D.I.G. is a power trio from Sweden. We’ve been together since 2013 and have no plans to slow down. It is Björn on vocals and guitar, Fredrik on bass and Jonathan on drums. We all bring different elements to the pot, everybody in the band has broad music tastes that stem from hard rock. We are currently recording music for our second album that we hope will be out in late 2020.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

D.I.G.: Björn – Well it depends on my mood! but the basic ingredients for me is a touch of King´s X, a bit of Alice In Chains and top it off with some Alter Bridge and we got a nice stew!

Fredrik – Freak Kitchen, Night Flight Orchestra and so much more. Pantera is an old school favourite.

Jonathan – AC/DC ! I was probably the guy that knew the most about drummer Phil Rudd for a while :p So yeah AC/DC.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

D.I.G.: Our latest release is the song “In The Blink Of An Eye”. Its a short energetic track with a cool groove! If you like a groovy tune with a nice hook you should check it out!

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

D.I.G.: Expect the unexpected! We are frankly bored to death about live shows from bigger bands! Everything is so perfect! Playing to click tracks, playing songs EXACTLY like on the record and so on. We like our live show to be more organic! The tempos of the songs may differ from the album, we add jam parts, extended solos and more. EVEN a got damn bass solo, short of course but enough to make the singer be able to chug a beer. So we think we actually do a nice show! So come check us out.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

D.I.G.: To the next step! Its all small steps for us, growing our fan base, touring and more. We would like to grow a fan base that would give us the chance to tour more and hang out with people from all over!
