Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with The KillerHertz.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
THE KILLERHERTZ: We started back in late 2011 – Thomas Trold on guitar and vocals, Kent KillerHertz on drums and two former members Tais Pedersen on lead guitar and Stefan Staff on bass. We were childhood friends who have had a break from the music scene due to family and kids…we came from different bands, such as Saturnus, Pitch Black and Morbid Vision, meaning we mostly played thrash and death metal. But after a few years break we were eager to start a band together – and in the rock genre instead. Tais and Thomas had already some ideas, which quickly turned in to a few songs, and in 2014 our first album came out called “Killer Anthem”. The second album came in 2017 called “Mirrors Portrait”. Along the way we have had some changes in our line-up. The two new spots are now filled in with Jonas Roxx on lead guitar and Jakob Nielsen on bass.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
THE KILLERHERTZ: Our inspiration and influence thrives mostly through classic bands and artists from the 70´s, 80´s and 90´s, such as Megadeth, Metallica, Iron Maiden, KISS, Mötley Crüe, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Mercyful Fate etc. – the era of that time has had a significant influence on all of us, some of the best albums are made in that period!
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
THE KILLERHERTZ: The title is “Innocent Sinners” – it contains three original songs and a cover version by an old Danish band called Danseorkestret. We wanted to use time on fewer numbers instead of a full album, which normally contains about 10-12 songs – It gave us more time to focus on our sound, and on each number in particularly – such as adding more keys and gimmicks in the recording process, which gave it all a wider sound and expression to the songs. Perhaps a more modern, polished sound to it, if you compare it with our first two releases. But our sound has improved significantly, our way of playing as a band, our internal understandings when it comes to writing music and rehearsals. We have definitely improved on all parameters, and it will hopefully bring the band into a new era. A new era that hopefully will give us a wider audience outside the Danish border.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
THE KILLERHERTZ: High energy live shows with catchy choruses and tight beats….and we are giving away free stuff, such as CDs and other merch – and we have this cover song we used to play at the end of our shows, where some of our female fans tends to show breasts during the song…definitely a perfect crowd pleaser ha-ha!
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
THE KILLERHERTZ: Well… A couple of albums more, perhaps even a double album – played some of the European rock festivals… small tour in Asia perhaps, and hopefully played some gigs in both South America and the US as well. But at the moment it´s all about rehearsals – we need to get in shape for the summer – Our EP-album will be released the 29th of May, and we have music videos, with four releases within a month and a half of each other, which means releases in January, March, May and June this year, so still a lot to look forward to in the near future.
