Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Undefeated.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
UNDEFEATED: Booming bass, war-like drums, and a lil bit o’ glitter! We’re from Lewis County, New York. About 45 minutes from the Canadian Border. There’s a lot of classic rock and country up here, and it comes out whether we mean it to or not! So embrace it and make it more metal :).
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
UNDEFEATED: Our drummer (Christian) is a die-hard djent/metal/screamo fan. Ian’s (bassist) heart was born and raised in classic rock. You know, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, the whole thing. Then there’s me (Meredith… the green-haired gal!). I LOVE to sing. You can’t take a singer and stick her in one genre. The trick is melding these three sounds without losing what God gave each one. The whole is greater than the piece. Lacey Sturm is a favorite of mine. She is an incredible lyricist, and has her own vocal sound. Christian is a big fan of Random Hero’s old stuff, and Demon Hunter. He really likes the feel of the drums, and how they drive they music. (Example: By My Side by Demon Hunter) Ian admires The Beatles, for creating something that hadn’t been done before.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
UNDEFEATED: We just put out our second single, Where Are You. We also have Shadows out, and three more songs to put out in the next couple months to complete a 5-song EP. We think every album worth buying has a signature song, and an anchoring ballad! A rock sound with a sprinkling of progressive/punk is what you’ll experience with this first EP!
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
UNDEFEATED: Our lead vocalist can flat out sing. Christian is a BEAST on the drums. The bassist adds smoooooth lines. Our shows include ballads for those who like it from the heart; and some rockin’ tunes for you head-bangers. You’re not going to sit and listen to the same sound over and over. Keep up with us on our pages! (Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube).
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
UNDEFEATED: We would like to make a full-time living performing. We’re excited to hit the road. The drummer has two years left of high school, so over the next year we’d like to try our hand at short tours (3 weeks to 3 months)!
