Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Ugly Clinic

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Ugly Clinic.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

UGLY CLINIC: Ugly Clinic are a multi-generational Punk/Rock band from the North East of Scotland. As the complete lineup as it is today, Chloe (Vocals), Pete (Guitar), Davie (Bass), Richard (Guitar) and Jed (Drums), we have only been together for 9 months. Yet in that time we feel we’ve achieved a lot. We’ve played countless great gigs, recorded an album, released two singles and already began working on album no.2. We all have a passion for music and intertwine our individual influences together to create music that’s fast, raw and real.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

UGLY CLINIC: As per the previous question, we all have our own individual influences that we mix together to create the music that we have. For Pete and Davie it’s bands like The Clash, Buzzcocks, Killing Joke. For Chloe and Jed it’s more of the hard rock bands, Slipknot, Motörhead etc. And for Richard it’s the classic rock stuff, AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses etc.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

UGLY CLINIC: Our latest track released is ‘Pink Speed and Tequila’. Although it’s not a metal song, treat it as though it was a metal song. Its fast, raw and real. Stick it on, crank the volume up and just go with it.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

UGLY CLINIC: You’ll see a band that gives their all. A band that’s passionate about the music that they are playing. It’s gonna be loud, its gonna be fast and it’s gonna be a performance that each member is putting their heart and soul into.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

UGLY CLINIC: Considering what we’ve achieved so far in the 9 months together, we’d like to think that sky’s the limit for us. We’re gonna keep doing what we’re doing. If this virus ever pisses off, we’re gonna be gigging until we can’t no more. We’re gonna keep writing and producing album after album for our fans. This is only the beginning for us, but we’ve got a lot more to come, watch this space!
