Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Dialekt

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Dialekt.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

DIALEKT: Dialekt, in its current iteration, has been around since 2018 when drummer Jamie Beaumont joined guitarist Mariano, bassist Mat Augustyniak, and vocalist Matt Haynes to complete the line up. In the two years since, the band have recorded two singles (additional to the two recorded with previous drummer Dom Kuzniar) and have made a name for themselves as “purveyors of nu-metal post grunge metalcore”. The band have made fans all around the three county area and held their own alongside established metal bands at the HRH Metal Festival at the O2 in Birmingham early in 2020.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

DIALEKT: Musically, and early on, bands like Linkin Park and Papa Roach. Later music is more influenced by bands like Bury Tomorrow and While She Sleeps. Lyrically, 00s and 10s emo and hardcore, with later inspiration developing writing style to be more direct about social issues.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

DIALEKT: Our latest release is The Demons I Hide. It’s probably the hardest hitting track, and very raw and emotional. There is no message in the song particularly as it’s basically a portrayal of the kind of pain that mental health issues can cause, but we have provided a message of support for those suffering with things like depression. It’s also incredibly well composed, courtesy of our resident guitar wizard. Check it out for superb melodies, crashing drums, and raw vocals. You can find it on around 190 streaming sites by searching the song title and looking for the D.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

DIALEKT: We like to be serious about what we write but we also want people to have a good time. You can expect to have a bit of a laugh in the breaks, and to get caught up in solid riffs and precision timing.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

DIALEKT: In five years we’re looking to be touring Europe, bringing classic nu metal elements back onto the stage in its latest form. We’re looking to record our debut album this year so maybe we’ll have another out by then too and everyone loves t-shirts. Well perhaps be looking to collaborate with UK artists to support their scene as they support ours.
