Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Color Out.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
COLOR OUT: Color Out is a rock solo project from Nashville, TN. This is an unsigned, completely independent act and I write, perform and produce all the songs. Color Out started in 2015 and since then I have released three EPs and will be releasing a new EP on March 13.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
COLOR OUT: I am heavily influenced by the early to mid 2000’s rock. From Breaking Benjamin to Death Cab for Cutie and everything in between. This era of rock really influenced who I am as a songwriter and as a guitarist.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
COLOR OUT: I will be releasing a new 6 song EP titled “Perspectives” on March 13. This EP will be available on all streaming platforms and it is available on iTunes for pre-order. I think people should check this EP out because it has a little bit of a throwback sound to the early 2000s. Although you don’t hear a lot of rock in the mainstream, I believe there is still quite an appetite for upbeat rock music being played with real instruments. This EP has a more Pop/Punk sound, but I think there is something for everyone on this EP and I am really excited about this collection of songs.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
COLOR OUT: As a solo project, I do not play a lot of live shows but I hope to change that in the near future. Check out the YouTube page for some live acoustic recordings of some of these songs.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
COLOR OUT: My goal is to continue writing music that connects with people. It’s inspiring to speak with people halfway across the world and have them tell you your music helped them through a difficult time or inspired them to play guitar. That right there is what it’s all about and as long as people have an appetite for this style of music, I will keep writing it.
