Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Livonia.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
LIVONIA: We’re Livonia, we sound like a cross between You Me At Six and Don Broco, a very British sounding form of Pop Punk. We are based in London and have been a band for nearly 2 years now.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
LIVONIA: Our main influences would be bands like Boston Manor, The Story So Far and Knuckle Puck, who are absolutely smashing it in the scene at the moment, if we could follow along their career paths so far that would be incredible. Of course, we all grew up listening to bands like Blink 182 and Red Hot Chili Peppers. They were like the gateway into wanting to get on stage and play live.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
LIVONIA: Our latest release is our debut single “Talking.” It’s available on all streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music and a few other usual suspects. The track itself is probably our most mature song lyrically. It is about mental health and how we should all try and be there for each other, and how it’s cool to lean on your friends when you’re feeling low, something that is so important nowadays.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
LIVONIA: We try and make our live shows as energetic as possible, leave nothing held back. To put it into perspective, our lead guitarist Rob had a broken foot and was still jumping around smashing out every song regardless of his injuries at our last show!
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
LIVONIA: In five years, I think we would like to be playing a few festivals, be signed to label for an album or two, but as long as we are still making music and playing shows, we’ll be happy either way. Got to aim high right?!
