Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Abysmatic.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
ABYSMATIC: Abysmatic was founded by producer-singer-songwriter Dennis Nikov and had its first official release in 2013. Completed by Hristo Simeonov on guitar and Dobromir Vulkov on drums, the band has since released 2 LPs, numerous singles, and has been a constant presence in the Bulgarian alternative scene.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
ABYSMATIC: Nine Inch Nails, The Prodigy, Celldweller, Static-X, and Rob Zombie to name a few.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
ABYSMATIC: Abysmatic just recently released its definitive self-titled album, which offers a unique industrial metal sound mixed with EDM that could be described as The Prodigy meets Static-X, and features lyrics in the band’s native tongue, Bulgarian. A single from the album called “Dante” was picked up by Bulgarian national rock radio which led to Abysmatic landing local opening spots for artists like Combichrist, Foreign Beggars, Alix Perez, Enei and Leeroy Thornhill (ex-The Prodigy). Check it out if you want to hear a truly rare combination of styles coming from the weirdest of places.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
ABYSMATIC: Abysmatic’s live shows are an explosive mixture of pure punk rock energy and jump-up drum and bass style drops that is sure to get everyone dancing.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
ABYSMATIC: Probably still doing what we love – making music and rocking the stage.
