Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Mount Abora

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Isaac Nicoletto of Mount Abora.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

NICOLETTO: We’re a five-piece prog metal band based out of Toronto, Canada mixed with psychedelic/ambient interludes and song sections as well as some djenty goodness and sporadic chaos with groove as well as absolutely filthy breakdowns.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

NICOLETTO: Our influences are all over the place so I’ll just list our favorite bands: Primus, Cattle Decapitation, Dance Gavin Dance, Despised Icon, and Gojira.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

NICOLETTO: Our latest release is our debut self titled LP Mount Abora released February 23rd 2019 and you should check it out because I guarantee you will either call us metalcore pussies or a fresh prog band of god status that will end your ability to listen to anything else other than us.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

NICOLETTO: As quoted from a show review “These guys always deliver a solid performance, leaving the crowd contemplating the magic they just watched unfold. This night was no exception. Their unique use of ethereal and atmospheric guitar tones and sporadic tempo changes make for an exciting performance. The one thing I love about this band is their ability to send the crowd into another realm. You know those bands that halfway through the set, you realized you haven’t blinked or taken a breath in almost a minute? Yeah, that’s this band. During their performance a quick look across the crowd showed many mouths, half agape, intently watching, and that’s truly something special”

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

NICOLETTO: Touring a lot more and having a few more LPs out and having my expensive music video ideas coming to life.
