Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Lola Black.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
BLACK: Hi I’m Lola from Lola Black (vocals). We are from Denver, Colorado and walk this road as independent artists. We play rock music of the more heavy variety and have been doing so for quite some time. Some of our songs are heavier than others depending on the mood. A perk to being independent is we get to do what we want. We have been fortunate enough to play all over the country with a lot of bands we considered legends and meet new friends at every show. Very exciting..
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
BLACK: I’m influenced by music in general. Everything I hear and no matter how random it may be, a small snippet of music can unknowingly influence me down the line. I love it all and take it all in. Sounds are cool to me.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
BLACK: Our latest release was on November 1st, 2019. It is our spin on Concrete Blonde’s “Bloodletting (Vampire Song),” just in the key of Lola Black. The cover was a follow up from our full length album “Nothing’s Gonna Be Alright,” which was released late fall of 2018. Check it out because it’s bitchin’ and as music enthusiasts, checking out new music should be your jam!
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
BLACK: Crazy, stupid, and fun. Let’s get weird because I already am..
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
BLACK: I can’t speak for the dudes but music is something I will always dabble in. So in five years I see myself still singing. Just as I always have and always will.
