Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with N.a.s.H.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
N.A.S.H.: Joe Nash- We are four regular dudes from New York.
Bryan Nash- Joe, Jim Bobbi and myself are brothers.
Dylan Johnson- I answered an ad on Craigslist for a band looking for a guitar player.
Jim Bobbi Nash- So, now, we’ve adopted Dylan.
Bryan Nash- Jim Bobbi, Joe and I have been playing together for a LONG time. We have about 12-15 years off and on. Dylan has been with us for 5 heartfelt and loving years.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
N.A.S.H.: Bryan Nash: Ah man, we have been getting asked this question a lot and it doesn’t get any easier because we always feel like we are forgetting someone. Today, I am going to say- Metallica, Black Sabbath, Pearl Jam, Sam Cooke, Al Green, Alice In Chains, KISS.
Dylan Johnson- I think I have narrowed it down to: Nirvana, Brand New, Guns N’ Roses, Bayside.
Jim Bobbi Nash- I am all over the place with this question and I know as soon as I answer, I will think of 5 more bands that I should have said. Queen, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, The Police, Ginger Baker, Keith Moon, Stewart Copeland, Gene Krupa, Mitch Mitchell, and R.E.M.
Joe Nash- I am not going to overthink it! Slipknot, Pantera, Metallica.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
N.A.S.H.: Jim Bobbi Nash- Our latest song is called ‘D.i.t.c.h’!
Bryan Nash- Besides the obvious answer, being check it out because it’s a kick-ass song that will make your ears happy, it is a really different take lyrically on a love song. Kind of a really really twisted take on the ‘better to have loved and lost’ scenario. It is also our heaviest song to date and it really gets crowds going at live shows. It’s a song that can really appeal to a few different genres. Our philosophy has always been ‘like what you like’, though….don’t let genres or the idea of genres define your love of songs. There are too many fucking rules nowadays, it feels good to break one or two. Trust us, we do it all the time.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
N.A.S.H.: Bryan Nash- I like to describe our live show as an all-out war.
Joe Nash- We really release some serious demons when we get up on stage each time we play.
Bryan Nash- We love playing live more than anything else. The audience drives the show. Live is where we thrive.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
N.A.S.H.: Bryan Nash- Ouch 5 years???? That’s really looking into the future for us. Ummm we would just really love to be doing what we are doing now, just on a progressively larger scale. My father always told me, “make the opportunity….be your own boss” and that may sound like a cliche goal, but the best ones usually are. And we just keep doing that for ourselves, setting new goals and reaching them, then killing them. We want to be huge because we want to inspire. We’ve always wanted that. We want to have people fall in love with something we made FOR THEM. We want to contribute, we want to help when and where we can. And selfishly, we want to make an even better life for our families because they have given so much to us. Shit, look at us now: sitting down talking about our SECOND single from an album WE made and chatting with you fine people. Five years from now? Two bishop checkmate.
