Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with The Golden Leaves.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
THE GOLDEN LEAVES: We are a diverse group of musicians whom all love playing rock. I say we are diverse because we all have our different musical backgrounds. The vocalist, David, used to sing in a gospel choir, while Christian was the drummer in a heavy metal band before he joined us. I think our broad spectrum of influences help us make interesting music.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
THE GOLDEN LEAVES: Earlier, we described ourselves as the lovechild of Arctic Monkeys and Rival Sons, but we try to learn from and get inspired by all the great ones. We’re currently trying to convince Javier, the lead guitarist, to grow out the Brian May-hair. He’s still refusing.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
THE GOLDEN LEAVES: The latest release is our single Rebel. It’s a great song because of it’s easy-listening groove, awesome guitar and bass riff, and perhaps most of all, its amazing music video. We made a video with the guys over at Ragnarock, and those guys are geniuses. They even made Arthur, the bass player, look good on camera. That’s some magic right there! Rebel is of course from our upcoming album, City of Lights, an album with something for everyone!
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
THE GOLDEN LEAVES: Is it cocky to say that its the best live show they ever will witness? Oh well… We always give our best. No matter if there is 3, 300 or 3000 in the audience. And people seem to like it! Many have come to us after shows to compliment our energy and our connection, both with the audience and between bandmates.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
THE GOLDEN LEAVES: Well, we have predicted that Javier will be in the 27 club, and that’s next year, so the rest of us will probably still be playing mourning concerts.
