Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Crejuvent.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little bit about your project:
CREJUVENT: Crejuvent is my musical toilet project, where I dump my leftover sonic excretion that nobody wants to use in any of my other projects. It’s like an extreme metal dumpsite. Which is also how I’d describe my life.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
CREJUVENT: They range from Strapping Young Lad, to Red Hot Chili Peppers, to Beethoven, to Car Bomb, to anything in between. I tend to gravitate more towards grandiose sounding music and that’s the kind of stuff that influences me most.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
CREJUVENT: My latest release is a single called Vesti La Giubba, and it was released with a B-side called Blue Spirit. The single is a metal cover of a famous opera piece, whilst the B-side is an original progressive death metal epic. As for why your readers should check it out, fuck if I know. I’m not their mother, I’m not gonna tell them what to do. Me telling them what they should be doing implies I know any better, and if you knew me you’d certainly know that not to be the case.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
CREJUVENT: Loud noises and lots of built up frustration. And they can expect to see the most awkward person ever.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
CREJUVENT: I see this project being crushed under the weight of its own secret genius. I’ll probably be dead by then, but then eventually someone will discover one of my releases and hail it as unrecognized talent or some shit and the world would mourn what could have been.
Actually, let’s be real, I’ll probably still be writing music in my underwear at 3 in the morning, only now it’s getting…weird…
