Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With She Made Me Do It

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Shaheena Dax of She Made Me Do It.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

DAX: We are She Made Me Do It – an Electronic Rock band from North London. Will and I both played in the Rock band Rachel Stamp – we have harnessed our songwriting ideas and created this band. We have previously released 2 albums and we’ve just now released our latest EP ‘Drenched’ and a new video for the song ‘Bones’.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

DAX: We both love so much music of all genres – I’d say we both love early The Cure, Depeche Mode, Fad Gadget, Sponge, Monster Magnet, Body Count, and so much more.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

DAX: Our EP ‘Drenched’ is our best yet – cool riffs, big choruses, interesting lyrics – the mixes are perfect and the production is big. We also have great artwork by Jeff Conway at Pushing Normal and we’ve made a fantastic performance video with Duncan Catterall for the first track ‘Bones’. We’ve just filmed a video for the second track ‘Broken Morning’ which is being edited just now.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

DAX: Good songs and an energetic and intense performance.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

DAX: Playing tons of bigger gigs with lots of new songs and making many more videos.
