Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Marty Hill of Roaring Truth.
METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
HILL: Roaring Truth is a hard rock/heavy metal band based out of Dallas, TX. Band members are: James Jones (JJ)- vocals, Marty Hill-guitar, Dillon Moses-guitar, Jordan Greer-bass, James Michael McLester- drums. We do music Texas style- Big, Loud, and Proud! Our songs focus on melody, heavy hooks, and positively charged lyrics. Rock is in a desperate need of a return to its roots, and we feel we provide that.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
HILL: Aerosmith (70’s), Van Halen, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard (pre-Hysteria), Metallica, Tesla, 70’s R & B, and 70’s AOR (Styx, Journey, Foreigner).
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
HILL: We have a self-titled EP, “Roaring Truth”, out on Spotify, iTunes, iHeart etc… If you miss heavy melodic music, then we are your band!
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
HILL: The natural energy of our music flows through us when we play. Our catalog of music will take you on a musical roller coaster ride- we go up, down, fast, slow, and all the way around! It’s a “Magic Carpet Ride”.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
HILL: Hopefully heading a Rock-n-Roll revival similar to the “New Wave of British Heavy Metal”. We are currently working on a song inspired by this idea called “Build the Fire”. The chorus line is, “Patriarch, rising from the pyre- We light the spark, YOU BUILD THE FIRE!” Let’s do it!
