Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Shattered

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Tony Pettry from Shattered.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

PETTRY: Hello, this is Tony Pettry from Shattered. We are a heavy metal band out of Tampa Bay. We have Fred on vocals, Shawn on drums, Jonathon on bass, Tony on lead guitar, and finally me also a Tony on rhythm guitar. The band was formed in 2014 and have one album out at the moment called PRIDE. At the moment we are writing our new EP called SKINWALKER which will be released in 2019. Our music is a combination of old school metal and new to make a very unique sound.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

PETTRY: My personal main influences are King Diamond, Iron Maiden, KISS, Danzig and so much more. I’m all over the board on what I like.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

PETTRY: Our new release is coming in 2019 called SKINWALKER. This album is based on werewolves and other cool mystical stories combining every song into one big story almost how King Diamond writes his music and some of the great storytellers. The sound is unique and will no doubt get you moving.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

PETTRY: Shattered believes on putting on a stage show for the fans with not only our music but with the whole motherload such as crazy lasers, fog machines, sound effects and this year we have a big surprise which the only hint I will give is its related to our new albums theme. Not forgetting that our lead guitarists loves to jump in the crowd during our set quite often.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

PETTRY: Shattered is looking forward to writing solid music and having a lot of fun. This music industry is so big that your odds of winning the lotto are probably better than making it big time. So, saying that we are go to have a lot of fun making music together, tour, keep promoting and if we win that lotto we would not disappoint.
