Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With As Within, So Without

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Luke Vitullo from As Within, So Without.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

VITULLO: Our band tends to feel like family a lot of the time, we’re all best friends and we’ve had so many experiences together that I know we will always cherish when we are older.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

VITULLO: There are so many influences on all of our members personally. A lot of our members have a very diverse music taste, and I feel like our newest album ‘Into Oblivion’ really shows that. Although we are a metalcore band we try to find originality and pull influence from our favorite aspects of music and not be contained to one style or genre. But bands we are often compared to are In Hearts Wake and Wage War.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

VITULLO: Our new album ‘Into Oblivion’ will be available everywhere March 5th. The readers of this site should check it out because I believe that we found a way to take all aspects of the metalcore subgenre and merge them with all of our own personal influences outside of metal. Plus it has a strong message behind it that all of us in As Within, So Without feel very strong about, which in a nutshell is that it’s okay to not be okay.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

VITULLO: Well, I think something everyone should expect from our shows is high energy, audience interaction, and a heartfelt performance.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

VITULLO: Hopefully a full time touring schedule and plenty more new music. One of our goals as a band is to always push the bar individually and collectively.
