Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to up and coming bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Richie Ray (vocals/guitar) of The Stars Revolt.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
RAY: We are The Stars Revolt from Louisville, KY. I’m Richie, I sing and play guitar. Skyler plays leads, Will plays bass and Brett is on drums. We are pretty much a straight-up rock band that leans heavily towards the darker emo sound.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
RAY: I’d say that our music is influenced mostly by My Chemical Romance, Acceptance and The Juliana Theory. Individually, as musicians, it’s everything from Mötley Crüe to KISS to Garth Brooks.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
RAY: Our latest release is our self-titled EP, The Stars Revolt. If you like emotionally charged rock, this is for you. If you like big guitars and driving drums, this is for you. If you like music in general, you just might like this record. It’s available for pre-order on iTunes and Amazon currently but is available everywhere on May 18th.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
RAY: They can expect us to leave it all onstage. We want people to feel like they’ve been a part of something special when the show is over. That connection that we’ve felt while watching our favorite bands is what we hope to create.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
RAY: I just hope we’re still on the path that we’re on and still making music. Hopefully we’re hitting the road hard and still doing this every night.
