Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to up and coming bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Doug Dowd from Stratus Nimbus.
METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
DOWD: This band was formed in August of 2014 by my brother Dan Dowd and I having a desire to record music together.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
DOWD: We like bands like Black Sabbath, Electric Wizard, Trouble, Witchfinder General, Hawkwind, Fu Manchu, and Nebula
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
DOWD: Our self-titled debut album is a collection of songs that represent our diverse style. Recorded on a low budget, But with a lot of heart put into the music we wanted others to hear.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
DOWD: We are currently not playing live. Although we intend to deliver strong live shows with the energy of the crowds by 2017
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
DOWD: In 5 years we hope to still be an active band with new music that surpasses anything we create at this point. Our goal is always to improve as musician’s as we move forward.
