Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to up and coming bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with the “traprock” band ERA 9.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

ERA 9: The number 9 represents liberty and positivity. We are a new era of music that isn’t just for one person. We cater to all who open themselves to it! We value creative freedom in music and we promote open mindedness and imagination. Hence, ERA 9. We are a “TrapRock” band that is male and female fronted.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

ERA 9: It’s more of genres of music that inspire and influence us most, rather than just bands or artists. The core of our music will be hard rock, with heavy riffs, but we enjoy changing up the basic usual structure of songs to an EDM/Trap type of structure.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

ERA 9: We’ve been writing/recording new material and gearing up to take over the world in 2017. We’ll be releasing a full length album, called “Gravity”, this coming Spring, and heading out on tour to promote it. They should check it out because we have a unique sound, merging Rock and heavy guitar riffs with Hip-Hop, Trap/EDM, and melodic and Pop vocals. If you’re open-minded and appreciative of all genres of music like we are, you’ll definitely love Era 9.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

ERA 9: We can definitely say we give the party-starting, give-no-fucks approach to our live shows. People from different scenes come together and party hard to our genre-bending sound. Whether it’d be by moshing with the rockers, dancing with the girls or straight up vibing with the hip-hop crowd. Our music touches each end of the spectrum with heavy guitar breakdowns and trap drops, accompanied by epic EDM buildups and big bass, all meshed with melodic vocals. Our stage presence is very energetic and audience engaging. We tapped into our DIY skills to prepare a visually compelling experience. We have our independently sequenced light and smoke show along with back drop video projections as we perform. You wanna be there.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

ERA 9: We hope to be performing our music for fans all around the world!
