Drummer Eric Choi has announced his departure from We Came As Romans. He didn’t go into much detail on his reasoning for leaving, but he did reveal that he has new music in the works.
Here’s Choi’s full statement:
“After 10 amazing years with We Came as Romans, it is time for me to move onto the next chapter of my life. It’s sad to see my time with WCAR come to an end, but I truly believe this is for the best. I wish nothing but the best for the guys and am excited to watch them continue to grow. To anyone and everyone who has made this last decade such an unforgettable, irreplaceable time of my life, I am forever grateful and hold the moments we shared very close to my heart. I’ve had music in the works for some time now and am excited to be sharing it with you all sometime next year.
I’ll be available for lessons for those who are interested – EricChoiDrums@gmail.com”
The band added the following:
“A special message from the WCAR family to our fans: We’ve thoroughly enjoyed the 10 years we’ve spent with Eric in this band and the countless memories we’ve made together. He is an extremely talented musician and a great person, but life happens and we’re all torn in different ways as we grow older. Eric has chose to pursue a different future than we have, and as someone we respect and deeply care for, we need to allow him to live his life. The band will continue on and Eric will be successful in whatever he chooses to do and we only wish him the best.”
