While arriving at the airport for their show in St. Petersburg, Russia yesterday (April 19), Belphegor’s Helmuth Lehner was spat on by an Orthodox Christian activist named Anatoly Artyukh. The offender then continued to act agressively, before being stopped by Nile‘s Karl Sanders. The attack was due to the “blasphemous” nature of the band’s music and a claim that said Lehner started the confrontation, despite the fact that video evidence shows otherwise.
