Concert Review: Metallica Rock AT&T Park In San Francisco, CA

Last night (February 6), I attended the Metallica concert at AT&T Park in San Francisco, CA, and it was one hell of a show.

The band performed an explosive set for CBS Radio’s “The Night Before,” which served as the pre-party for this year’s Super Bowl. The set list for the night was nothing but classic hits including “Creeping Death,” “Battery,” “Master Of Puppets,” “One,” “Seek And Destroy,” and their finale “Enter Sandman,” which was complete with a full firework display.

James Hetfield’s vocals were on point all night. Those mixed with Lars Ulrich’s thunderous drum work, Kirk Hammett’s masterful guitar shredding, and Robert Trujillo’s groovy bass lines made a powerful sound that rocked the Bay Area. The band’s new stage setup was amazing as well. It was complete with five large screens, and a laser light show.

When the night came to the end, each member addressed the crowd, and Ulrich said the band will back soon with a new album, which Hetfield said was almost complete. Although, it is necessary to point out that Hetfield did say not to get your hopes up about it being released soon. The show was one for the ages, and the band truly proved that they are “too heavy for halftime.”
