GWAR Sued By Dave Brockie’s Father

GWAR, as well as Slave Pit Inc., have apparently been sued by Dave Brockie’s (aka Oderus Urungus) father, William Brockie, for the vocalist’s remains possessions, and for the band allegedly capitalizing on Dave’s death.

According to Style Weekly, William Brockie wants $1 million dollars to compensate for “compensatory damages, punitive damages, and injunctive relief on claims of conversion, breach of contract, and unauthorized use of David Brockie’s image.” He claims the band stole his son’s ashes, artwork, and other items, such as bass guitars. He also said that Dave was never paid for the band’s Asian/Australian tours in 2014.

William went on to say that Brad Roberts (aka Jizmak Da Gusha) was the mastermind of the conspiracy and that he, along with the other members of GWAR and their management, were trying to take control of his son’s estate. He added that when the family requested Dave’s ashes they were only given a small percentage, delivered in a plastic bag.

Lastly, William is also angry that the band used Dave’s likeness, at last year’s GWAR-B-Q, without asking for permission.

Basically, there is a whole lot of drama surrounding the situation and fans will just have to wait and see how it plays out. R.I.P. Oderus.
