Dave Elitch To Miss Killer Be Killed’s Live Debut At 2015 Soundwave

Killer Be Killed will make their live debut at the 2015 Soundwave Festival in Australia, but unfortunately Dave Elitch (ex-The Mars Volta) will not be a part of it. His absence will be due to scheduling conflicts with his other band, Antemasque.

Elitch issued the following statement via Twitter:

“I’ve been getting a ton of questions regarding @soundwavefest, so lemme set the record straight: I will be playing with @ANTEMASQUE, but… I unfortunately will not be able to play with @KillerBeKilled, as it’s logistically impossible as they’re on different days.”

Since Elitch won’t be present, Ben Koller (Converge) will handle the drumming duties. Greg Puciato (Dillinger Escape Plan) confirmed the news via The Metal Review:

“Look I haven’t actually told anyone this yet but Dave is actually not going to play. Ben Koller from Converge is going to play. You’re actually the first person to hear that.”

“Antemasque confirmed at the same time we did. We didn’t know what day we we’re going to be on (Soundwave runs two days), and then it just became an issue whether we wanted to still do it or not, which we obviously did. Then it was, if Antemasque have a good slot, if we have a good slot, I didn’t want to shuffle the band around to a shittier time slot just to accommodate Dave playing in both bands. Antemasque for Dave is a much bigger commitment, they’re playing a lot of shows all the time. If he needs to do that, that’s fine with me. Ben from Converge is a fucking animal so it’ll be cool to play with him.”
