Kill Devil Hill (ex-Type O Negative, ex-Five Finger Death Punch, etc.) have officially made their return with “Seas Of Oblivion.” The album is a powerful display of hard rock/heavy metal that is sure to please fans of artists such as Alice In Chains, Down, and A Pale Horse Named Death.

The effort consumes you right from the start with the slow burner “The Bitter End,” before really taking off with “You Can’t Kill Me California.” The latter gives you a sense of what to expect from the rest of the record, catchy music comprised of great musicianship and impeccable vocals.
As one moves further through the record, they will continue to find bangers such as “Undertow” and “Stranger Than Fiction.” These songs continue to bring the grooves, keeping you hooked and leaving you wanting more.
From there, things slow down a bit with the standout track “Solitude,” before picking back up with “Seize The Day,” “Seas Of Oblivion,” and “Playing With Fire.” “Seas Of Oblivion” is especially killer as it takes you on a rifftastic journey while proving its worth as the album’s title track.
That energy then carries over to “Pharmaceutical Sunshine” and the epic power ballad “From The Ashes.” And just when you think you’ve reached the summit, the record soars to new heights with “Eye Of The Storm” and “Devil In The Deep Blue Sea,” which continue to showcase the infectious nature of the band.
As things start to wind down, the group still manage to crank out more memorable songs like the sleazy “Darkest Days” and the glass raising “Before The Devil Knows.” Those tracks are only topped by the hell raising “Blood In The Water,” which wraps everything up in an anthemic fashion.
All in all, “Seas of Oblivion” is an amazing album from a band who are sure to continue making waves in the rock/metal scene. Make sure to check it out when it’s released on September 20.
