Concert Review: Mötley Crüe: The Final Tour

Last night (July 23), I attended the Mötley Crüe show, in Mountain View, CA. The show is part of the band’s Final Tour, which will continue through 2015, before the band calls it quits. The concert also featured performances from shock rock legend, Alice Cooper and opening act, The Raskins.

The show started with The Raskins. They were a decent opening act, whose music resembled old school rock. They are worth watching if you attend a future date of this tour.

After The Raskins finished their set, Alice Cooper took the stage. His performance was top notch. He played hits such as “I’m Eighteen,” “Feed My Frankenstein,” etc., before closing with “School’s Out.” He also did his classic guillotine stunt, and electric chair trick, which added to the performance.

After Alice Cooper finished, Mötley Crüe took the stage for their final Bay Area performance. The band opened with “Saints Of Los Angeles,” and then broke into a set containing their classic songs. The notable performances of the night were when the band played “Shout At The Devil” and “Kickstart My Heart.” Especially “Shout At The Devil,” when Nikki Sixx blasted his flame throwing bass. Another highlight was Mick Mars guitar solo, which was impressive. Other things that were cool include Nikki Sixx talking about how the band formed and the band covering Sex Pistol’s “Anarchy In The UK”. In the end, the band concluded their set by playing “Home Sweet Home” on a rising mini stage in the center of the crowd, making for a great finale. The only downside was the fact that Tommy Lee’s Cruecify drum coaster wasn’t able to fit in the venue. Since this has been a big part of their final performances, it was a bummer to miss it. Besides that, it was an awesome show.
