Alice In Chains To Be Honored With 2020 Museum Of Pop Culture Founders Award

Alice In Chains are set to be honored with this year’s Museum Of Pop Culture (MoPOP) Founders Award. The award will be presented during a special virtual event on December 1.

The following was said about the event [via Blabbermouth]:

“This one-night-only benefit will feature performances by ALICE IN CHAINS, as well as an acclaimed lineup of guest and youth musicians who will put their own twist on some of the band’s most iconic songs.

For the first time ever, this annual event will be moving from MoPOP’s Sky Church to an online platform where it will be accessible and open for all, giving pop culture lovers across the world an opportunity to connect and become a part of its creative community.

While this year’s Founders Award will stream for free and be open to all, like many arts organizations around the country, MoPOP has been hit hard by the COVID-19 crisis. As a community supported non-profit museum and in-person gathering space, closing its doors was especially difficult.

All proceeds raised through Founders Award will provide relief by allowing MoPOP to continue to serve its community, reach young people, and preserve its shared pop culture history during this difficult time.”

Decayer Sign With Seek And Strike Records, Reunite With Sean Labrucherie

Decayer have signed a new deal with Seek And Strike Records. With this news, the band have also confirmed that they have reunited with original vocalist Sean Labrucherie.

Guitarist David Anthony commented:

“Since the beginning, Decayer has been consistently pushing to bring heavy music to the scene in new and different ways. Recently, we received the incredible opportunity to work with Seek and Strike and we can’t be more excited to join the ranks of some incredibly talented musicians and genuinely great people.

We have parted ways with our vocalist, Harrison Burkardt, and wish him nothing but the best, as we are all close friends. With that said, we are beyond excited to welcome our original vocalist Sean Labrucherie back into the fold. He is a top-tier vocalist and it feels great to have him back. The new material is quickly taking shape and we all look forward to an incredible future with an awesome label behind us!”

Bruce Dickinson Says Iron Maiden Have Been “Working Together A Little Bit In The Studio”

Bruce Dickinson recently shared a video update to discuss what Iron Maiden have been doing during the coronavirus pandemic. Notably, the frontman mentioned that the band have “been working together a little bit in the studio.”

Dickinson said the following in part:

“We’ve all had a bit of a torrid time — everybody in the whole world, Maiden included. We wanna be out on tour.

A lot of things haven’t happened this year — that’s blindingly obvious — and it’s very, very frustrating. However, we do have plans. In the meantime, what are we doing? Well, we’re doing bits of writing. I’m talking to Steve [Harris]. We’ve been working together a little bit in the studio. On what, I can’t tell you, ’cause they’d have to kill me.

All our crew are all on board with us,” he continued. “Obviously, after the cancelation of the shows and rescheduling of the shows this year, all of our lives were canceled. The killer crew is still on board for when we resume normal service next year, whenever that is.

In the meantime, we’re all still here, we’re all still gagging and raring to go. We are not going away. We are solid, and there’s gonna be some great stuff happening in the near future.”

This news comes after rumors surfaced last year that seemed to suggest that the group had recorded a new album.

Night Ranger Working On New Album

Night Ranger have confirmed that they are working on a new album. The effort is expected to be released in 2021.

The following was said on the band’s official website:

“Songwriting started with the three original members Jack Blades (lead vocals/bass), Kelly Keagy (lead vocals/drums), and Brad Gillis (lead & rhythm guitars) meeting and putting their initial ideas together. The recording has now started with Eric Levy (keyboards) and Keri Kelli (lead & rhythm guitars) joining the process and the band will record through the rest of the year. The plan, subject to change, is to deliver the record to Frontiers in the first few months of 2021, with a release in the summer currently planned. The hope is that the album release will coincide with the band’s return to the stage, conditions permitting.”

The group also added:

“What this world needs now is to come together through music and Night Ranger is on it! We are excited to create a new studio album with our great partners at Frontiers Music. Our biggest problem is that we have so many songs, we’re trying to figure out which ones to leave off! Rock and Roll baby.”
