Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Fatal Switch

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Fatal Switch.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

FATAL SWITCH: We are Fatal Switch, a Rap Metal Rock band from Montreal Quebec Canada. We recently released our debut album Doctors & Demons that contains 10 full tracks of thoughtful stories injected into metal and rock songs. We have been crafting and perfecting a hybrid style that aims to respect both metal and hip-hop at their essence and blend them into one.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

FATAL SWITCH: That can be a long list. But to keep it short we will say that it ranges from Pantera, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Tool and Metallica to A Tribe Called Quest, The Roots, Eminem, Raga Against The Machine and Beastie Boys.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

FATAL SWITCH: Our latest single release is our title track called Doctors & Demons and your readers should check out the video (if for nothing else) because it stars original Suicide Girl model Stiletto Thunder Kiss. She did a fantastic job, but don’t take my word for it go see for yourself! It’s also a heavy song with some sick rapping so … there’s also that! And while you’re at it go check out our other songs where you can hear stories about homicide, aliens, robots, cyborgs and much more!

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

FATAL SWITCH: They can expect me to mosh with them. No seriously that’s a thing and it does happen mid song sometimes. Lots of energy as well. We definitely bring it live and play the album live even better than the record at times. We have truly deconstructed the songs and added different parts to them so that they are a version of their own that you can only hear if you attend one of our shows.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

FATAL SWITCH: To the Grammys? Joking aside though, we are hoping to have at least 2 more albums out and least have toured all of North America and Europe. I see us heading into a crazy adventure trying to continually push the envelope of our sound and make many more connections with industry leaders and fans. 5 years can go fast so we have a lot work to do! And in the meantime, we will continue to blend hip hop and metal in completely new ways, so it’s hard to say where exactly our songs will land but we promise to keep it interesting and entertaining!
