Robert Trujillo Says Metallica Might Do “Another Performance Or Two” Amid The Coronavirus Pandemic

As previously reported, Metallica recently filmed a special show and streamed it drive-in theaters across North America. Now, it looks like the band might be planning more performances amid the coronavirus pandemic. Bassist Robert Trujillo mentioned the idea while discussing the group’s current plans with The Oakland Press:

“Obviously these are crazy times, and it takes a lot to take that first step, and I feel like we’ve done that. We have some ideas about how we want to pursue making music together. We’re going to put something together and it’s going to be exciting musically, and maybe there’ll be another performance or two — not exactly sure when or how or what, but there are things in the works. We’ll get through this stuff now and start figuring out what’s our next step towards creativity. [The possibilities] go on and on and on. That’s kind of where we’re at.”

Belphegor To Release 20th Anniversary Edition Of “Necrodaemon Terrorsathan”

Belphegor will be releasing a 20th anniversary edition of “Necrodaemon Terrorsathan“ on November 6. The effort has been remastered and it can be pre-ordered HERE. A new re-recorded version of the title track will also be released as a digital single on September 18.

Helmuth Lehner said the following about the album:

“We originally composed this album 1998-1999, recording and releasing in 2000. Our Former guitarist Sigurd [1993-2006] who marched with me around the globe wrote three songs on this monster. Session drums were handled by Manfred “Man” Gandler [Mastic Scum] and bass by Mario Klausner [Pungent Stench, Collapse VII]”

He also added the following about the re-recorded version of the title track:

“20 years later and we’re still here, stronger than ever. I originally composed this song 1998-1999, tracking and releasing it in 2000. This was a thrilling experiment for me, to have the horde to listen to how ‘Necrodaemon Terrorsathan‘ would sound if we had created the track with our skills and recording capabilities in the present era.”

Marty Friedman (Ex-Megadeth) Reveals Cover Art For New Album “Tokyo Jukebox 3”

Marty Friedman (ex-Megadeth) has revealed the cover art for his new album “Tokyo Jukebox 3.” That effort will be released in Japan on October 21.

Friedman commented:

“Alright my friends—today the release of TOKYO JUKEBOX 3 was announced in Japan!

This is the album cover-

Just like everyone, I’ve had a real tough time dealing with 2020. We all suffered from a massive lack of fun this year, so I made it my mission to make feel-good, seratonin level raising music of the highest order, stuff that will hopefully kick you all in the feels, and hard. Making the album during a pandemic had its hellish challenges, but everyone is facing hardships now, so I was just thankful to have such cathartic work to do.

Guitar fans will notice, and hopefully enjoy, some pretty cool updates to my guitar sounds. I’ve discovered that when you take off all spatial effects like reverbs and delays, your solo expressions can often live and breathe more, and have an urgency and unique attack to them, that I’m really digging.

Enough about the album for now…

The Japanese release date is 10/21. The release info for the rest of the world will come soon, as well as bonus track info, events and more.”

GWAR Planning Drive-In Concert, Acoustic EP, Etc.

During a recent interview with Revolver, Blothar The Berserker offered an update on GWAR’s current plans. According to him, the group are planning a drive-in concert, a livestream event, an acoustic EP, and more.

Blothar said the following:

“We’re going to have a lot of stuff going on. I’m not going to get specific dates because then we would actually have to do the work, and we don’t want to do that.

So in the future, vaguely, I can say that, yes, GWAR will be doing a live drive-in performance at some point where people can drive up their cars and watch the band — the greatest band in rock & roll history — perform. We’re also going to do a livestream GWAR event. At some point, we’re working on a new comic book.

We’ve got a bunch of new products coming out. Most of them are intoxicants, exploiting human vices in one way or the other. Our own line of sex toys, which may be released.

We’ve got a lot of stuff going on, let me tell ya. At some point, we’re going to have to record an album, which we hope will be out towards the end of next year. In the meantime, we have an acoustic EP that we’re working on and trying to get that out the door.”

Lyrically, a lot of this record comes from life experience and other people’s stories. It’s going to be so fun to play these songs live.”
