“Both in the music industry and the world around us, we see so many things changing and that inspires us creatively. We have always been a band that embraces change and this song shows that more than ever, both musically and lyric-wise. For many, the song will be a shocker.”
Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder has accepted the “All In Challenge” to raise money for COVID-19 relief efforts. Fans that donate money via allinchallenge.in will have a chance to win an insane “birthday package” from the band.
Here’s a description of the prize:
“No matter when your birthday actually falls, you can choose which day you and a guest celebrate big with this never before offered Pearl Jam Birthday package. Join legendary Pearl Jam frontman, Eddie Vedder, for a concert experience you’ll never forget. You’ll start the day off with a soundcheck, where you’ll work with Eddie on the setlist for the night. Enjoy your view from good seats and then the soundboard for the first half of the show, and take your spot on the side of the stage for the second half. While you’re up there, Eddie will put you to work as a crew member and also share a bottle from his personal red wine stash with you. You’ll ultimately join Eddie and the band on stage for a “birthday” celebration, where the crowd will sing to you and you’ll get to blow out the candles on your cake. After an unforgettable night, you’ll take home your gift – your own Fender Telecaster guitar, signed by the Grammy Award-winning band. 100% of the money raised through this Game/Auction will go directly to Feeding America, Meals on Wheels, World Central Kitchen and No Kid Hungry.”
Motionless In White have officially cancelled their U.S. tour with Knocked Loose, Stick To Your Guns, and Ovtlier due to the coronavirus pandemic. The band are still planning to rebook the trek at some point, but they decided to cancel it for the time being so fans can get refunds.
Motionless In White said the following:
“U.S MIW Fans –
After processing the information our band and team have been receiving regarding the uncertain future of live events in the near future, as well as factoring in refund policies from various ticketing companies, we have decided to mark the Black & Blue Tour as “canceled” for the time being.
We fully plan to rebook the tour as early as we can once we start to see live events returning around the world. Though this is a tough decision, considering it “canceled” now allows you to collect refunds and that is what we feel is the best course of action.
We hope that everyone is staying healthy and sane right now. We are looking forward to finally getting back on the road to see you.”
Deep Purple have premiered a new song titled “Man Alive.” This track is from the band’s new album “Whoosh!,” which will now be released on August 7. Ian Gillan told Billboard the following:
“It’s an abstract concept. There was an apocalyptic quality to the (music of) ‘Man Alive’, and the idea developed lyrically from there — the scenario of this event that took place and everyone got killed, and you get this picture of ‘all creatures great and small grazed on blood red soil, and grass that grows on city streets.’ So it’s a post-humanity scenario. And then all of a sudden something’s washed up on the beach, and it turns out to be a man, and it’s the only living man — but it’s just a man, so…That’s the end of humanity, because what use is one man? That was the idea. If it was a painting, you’d call it impressionistic.”
Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich‘s sons Myles and Layne recently performed a cover of The Beatles’ “Eleanor Rigby” for their father’s livestream chat with Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff. Lars told Rolling Stone the following about that:
“It was like this insane, three-minute Blue Cheer, crazy, garage-rock version of ‘Eleanor Rigby‘. Obviously, there’s been some incredible versions of ‘Eleanor Rigby‘ along the way, but I’m pretty sure there’s never been one that had this kind of sound, this kind of feel, this kind of energy and madness to it. I was like, ‘You know what, boys? You done me proud.’”
Lee McKinney (Born Of Osiris) has premiered a new live video for his song “Rising Tide.” This track is from his latest album “Infinite Mind.” McKinney commented:
“This was filmed at my first ever solo show in America. Between Adrián Terrazas-González’s ewi solo and the peaceful feeling I get when I play the guitar passage in the second verse, Rising Tide has become one of my favorite tracks off of the Infinite Mind album. Thank you for all of your support. Enjoy <3"
