Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Dark Rain

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to up and coming bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Dark Rain.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

DARK RAIN: Dark Rain is the end result of 5 elemental forces of nature coming together to dominate the rock and metal world. The founder and original vocalist and guitarist Dudley Leavitt writes songs about life love and country, and occasional random twisted things…Fronted by the vocals of GH, lead guitar and vocals by Dudley himself, Brian Rathbun on rhythm guitar, and Bill True on bass. The newest addition is Devin Mallard on Drums Having won several battle of the bands contests, they have opened for acts such as Fire House, Sponge, Zakk Wylde, White Lion and many more. Their song “Get Ready” was featured by Supercuts Rock the Cut Promotion, and their forthcoming album can be found on over 60,000 touch tunes jukeboxes nationwide., Their last CD “The Long Road Home” is available on iTunes and Google Play. They can also be found on Shazam and Spotify. They did two small New England tours last summer, and are always booking more. Watch our tour dates as we will be coming to a venue near you to support our upcoming release “The Illusion Fades”

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

DARK RAIN: We are all influenced by many artists. You’ll definitely hear some underlying 80s influence on this CD. We have Kelleigh and Dudley doing the dual vocal thing so vocally, theres some Fleetwood Mac/Alice In Chains type stuff going on whether it be call and response or harmonies. Guitar sound wise we have a dual attack there with hard hitting rhythms and soaring melodic leads to compliment each other similar to Guns N’ Roses or Metallica.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

DARK RAIN: The latest release coming soon is “The Illusion Fades”, it is our first cd with our new rhythm section of Devin Mallard on drums and Bill True on Bass, it features some of our best songwriting to date.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

DARK RAIN: A Dark Rain show is two things. It’s basically a journey through our lives as told through music when it comes to the more serious songs, but its also a party, a place to go wild and have fun and let your inner demon out to play.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

DARK RAIN: Touring nationwide and overseas.
