Kiiara Pays Tribute To The Late Chester Bennington (Linkin Park) At New York City’s Panorama Festival

During her performance at New York City’s Panorama Festival, Kiiara, the vocalist who sang on Linkin Park’s single “Heavy”, paid tribute to Chester Bennington, who sadly took his own life on July 20. The tribute began with her sitting silently as Linkin Park’s “Battle Symphony” played. The track was then followed by “Heavy” with the music video playing in the background, as Kiiara and her band performed her part of the song live, along with Bennington’s recorded vocals. This news comes after Kiiara previously shared a letter she wrote for Bennington.

Cold Offer New Album Update

Scooter Ward has offered an update on the new Cold album. You can read that below.

“UPDATE from S.W. to Cold Army on new album and future events!

Hey guys! 1st off I’m hoping Everyone is doing well and things are going GREAT for all of you.
I will keep this short as I’m finishing up lyrics on the last couple of songs with time and focus being key right now.

Our apologies for stopping the studio updates and going dark with the new album. Truth is that for the first time in my career I experienced writers block. I’ve always been able to sit down, write music, and have the words flow freely. It had been effortless in the past. The music for the album was easy. The lyrics? Not so much. I needed this record to be top notch. As with all our records I treated this as the most important album of my career. Thankfully my lyric writing is back and in full force. Things are flowing once again and better than ever.

Life sometimes stop you in your tracks and there were a few personal things happening that affected my thought process. As you guys know. Family comes first. Some of the events and emotions will be clear to you all when you hear the new songs. Its a beautiful album and I’m hoping you guys are going to love it. Its definitely something for everyone. Little bit of all the Cold albums wrapped up into one and some new sounds too. The album title and release dates are coming soon! New album will be available this year!

We have new management with Primary Wave and are locking in some dates for a November through December tour in the states. Cold has decided to start off with a acoustic/storytellers tour. Very intimate cool setting .Similar to the one we did before the release of Year of the Spider. Yet bigger and better! We will also be touring Europe next year!! Its been way too long! We are all very excited about seeing our Cold family again and sharing the music with you.

Missed you guys so much! You guys truly are my extended family and I thank you all for your patience and loyalty throughout this long process. But in the end it will all be worth it and we can move forward and create new memories together. Coldarmy.com is currently under construction. There will be a splash page put up this week and new content will soon be added. We are excited to get our first real Cold store up and running . Going to get you all involved with ideas for new Merch!!

Also in the near future I will be doing a video chat with you guys to answer any and all questions about line up changes ,upcoming tours ,merchandise ,song meanings, and anything else we can think of! Will be nice to hear from everyone and catch up! The long wait is almost over!! Cant wait to see you all again! Love and miss you all very much! Stay tuned! Things are about to lift off! S.W.”

Otherwise Premiere Songs “Angry Heart” &”Close To The Gods”

Otherwise have premiered two new songs titled “Angry Heart” and “Close To The Gods.” These tracks are from their new album “Sleeping Lions,” which will be released on September 22.

Adrian Patrick said the following about “Angry Heart”:

“The initial spark for ‘Angry Heart’ took place on a cross-country flight from New York to L.A. I was watching UFC on the in-flight entertainment and the fighter, Cyborg, was giving an interview in which she basically said, ‘I am a pretty nice person outside of the ring. I don’t know why I fight with such an angry heart.’ Upon landing on the West Coast, I told my brother about what she said and the lyrics just flowed out of me, like a molten poem of rage. For whatever reason, be it how our father raised us to fight for what we believe in, we completely related to Cyborg’s statement. Personally, I’ve always felt like I was waging some kind of spiritual war, but I didn’t know why, until my sons were born. Those two beautiful boys have utterly redefined the ‘good fight’ for me. Anger is a gift, if utilized properly, and we plan to somehow make the world a slightly better place by using that righteous fire for positive goals.”

He also added the following about “Close To The Gods”:

“[It] is a reluctant acknowledgement of our own mortality. We’ve reached some of the pinnacles of worldly achievement; personally, professionally and physically, only to see them succumb to the trappings of human frailty. But by leaving this song, for future generations, as a monument to the blessings that true grit and perseverance can garner in this realm, we hope to enjoy even just a taste of immortality in the next.”
